“Tilicho Lake” is the highest Lake in the world. It is a glacial lake in the Annapurna region of  Nepal, which lies between Manang and Mustang Valley under the Tilicho Peak. Tilicho Lake is located 4949 meters from the sea level. Thousands of trekkers visit the lake every season from different countries.

Nepal is known to be the second richest country in the world and here lie the alluring water resources among which Tilicho Lake is one. Tilicho Lake is located in the Manang district of Nepal. It is situated at an altitude of 4949 meters in the Annapurna range, which is known as a highest lake in the world.

Tilicho Lake is also known to be the destination of the trendy hike. There are facilities of lodges around the area for trekkers. Trek to Tilicho will glorify your trekking diary. If you want to cross Mesokanto la at Tilicho pass then you need to have full equipment and ready to stay one night before Jomsom. So the best way is to descend downhill to Manang with the same trail and take a jeep downhill to Besisahar. Since the trek routes to high altitude so you should have good health. On the way to Tilicho, you can also explore places like Manang, Jomsom, etc which are the popular destination for holidays for Nepalese people as well. Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival to Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

After you arrive in TIA, our representative will be waiting for you to guide through the streets of Kathmandu and reach to your selected hotel. In the evening you can roam the local areas near by the hotel and the heritages nearby. You can go through the maps and outlines of the trip in the night.

Day 2
Exploring and sightseeing Kathmandu.

Our City Guide will take you to Major sightseeing places of Kathmandu Valley. You will visit Durbar Square, Boudhanath stupas, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath, and many more local places. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3
Drive from Kathmandu to Chame (2860m), 10 hours.

Early in the morning, you will take a drive to Besisahar. It lies on the way from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It will be 9-10 hours of drive to Chame. Chame is an elegant village of Gurung community people situated in the hills. Once you reach there you can enjoy your night experiencing their warm welcome and accommodations.

Day 4
Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang: (3200m), 6 hours.

Today you will step towards Pisang through the woods, forest, and views of mountain peaks. Leaving Chame, we will cross the bridge and follows the left side of Marshyangdu river. After an hour’s walk, we will reach beautiful Apple Garden Village Bhratang than continue to Dhukur Pokhari where we will take our hot lunch. Once you reach Pisang, you can explore the village. Here you can see Tibetan-engraved mani stones and gompa. You can walk to upper Pisang and enjoy the view of the Annapurna range. You will be spending the night in a lodge of Upper Pisang.

Day 5
Trek from Upper Pisang to Manang village(3540m), 5-6 hours.

After your morning breakfast, you will be heading for a trek of 6 hours through the Upper route of Ngawal and Ghyaru village. From here, we will see the amazing views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and many high peaks. After taking pictures and exploring old village Ngwal, we will trek down to the old typical village Bhraga. After a few minute’s walk, we will reach the spellbinding village of Manang. Manang is the headquarter of the region with 500 houses. There are bakeries and lodges by the local people for the trekkers. You can also see the Gangapurna tower there. You can explore the village and nearby places in the evening and have a stay in the local guest house.

Day 6
Explore Manang village and Ganga Purna Lake

Manang has so much to give to the visitors. After your breakfast, you will have a long day exploring Manang. Firstly you will have a long day hike to Ice Lake than you will visit the Hundred Rupee Lama at the cave gompa above Manang. Then you have a 2-hour hike to Milarepa’s cave which lies across the river from Braga. Finally, you can rest at your lodge and roam around the village in the evening and explore some more. Note: Khicho Ice Lake and Milarepa Caves are optional side trips.

Day 7
Trek to Siri Kharka from Manang (4060m), 6 hours.

After crossing the Khangsar Khola, you will reach khangsar and head towards the village which is built in traditional Tibetan style. Moving forward you will trek towards Siri Khara for your overnight stay in the guest house. In the afternoon, you can utilize your leisure time to hike up to see some blue sheep and the mountains view nearby.

Day 8
Trek from Siri Kharaka to Tilicho Base Camp (4140m), 3-4 hours.

Continuing the journey, today you will pass through monasteries. You will ascend on a hill from where you get to observe the exotic view of the entire valley as you climb up the hill. Stepping ahead you will see the Tilicho Base camp at an elevation of 13780 feet. You will rest at a tea house for the night in the base camp.

Day 9
Hike to Tilicho Lake and explore (4919m)- Back to Base Camp

Today you will complete a walk of 3 to 4 hours to reach Tilicho Lake. Tilicho Lake is a cold and barren place in the evening. It is said that there is no aquatic life in the lake. You will have a relaxing view of Tilicho Lake. The blue silent water of the lake will make you feel like you are in heaven. You can look around the lake, take pictures, and explore. You will be spending your night in a local tea house nearby. OR down to Base Camp. Depends on time and season.

Day 10
Trek back to Srikharka (4060m), 4-5 hours.

Early in the morning, you will leave for srikharkha enjoying the views on the way back. After you reach srikharkha you will have your room ready with hot shower and foods. You can relax for the rest of your day.

Day 11
Descend to Manang village from Sirikharka

You will be continuing the same way back to Manang enjoying nature views. You will be sparing your night in the guest house of Manang village.

Day 12
Drive from Manang village to Besisahar

After your breakfast, today you will depart Manang on a jeep. You will view the farms and villages on the way. You will enjoy the traditional food of Nepal that is “Daal Bhat” on the way to the village for lunch. Stop at Besisahar, the ending point of the day, and rest in the hotel relaxing.

Day 13
Drive back to Kathmandu from Besisahar

Following the same route, you will be driven back to Kathmandu and our representatives will drop you to your hotel.

Day 14
Departure from Kathmandu

A representative of Himalaya Family Adventure will help you reach to TIA by arranging you a farewell lunch and help you at the airport to fly you back to your place. In case you want further trips to Nepal, you can inform us, we will arrange it for you as per your comfort.

Is there Landslide and Avalanche?

Well, Normally the way is very easy and well managed but when there will be heavy snowfall time, (especially in winter) the trail from Srikharka to Base camp would be partially rock falling area. We recommend you to take a trained guide and you will be informed about the safety guidelines.
