Lower Manaslu Trek - 12 Days

Lower Manaslu is one of the prevalent and trendy destinations which lies in the lower Manaslu region of the Gorkha district also known to the name Gorkha Historical trekking. Mount Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain of the world is the major attraction of lower Manaslu trekking. On the way, one can enjoy, along with the trail to lower Manaslu valley in the Gorkha district exploring the historic, religious, cultural, and ecological significance of the Gorkha district while trekking. Someone not used to mountain trekking but loves to admire nature and its beauty, lower Manaslu is the place to be.

Overview

Lower Manaslu Trek is an easy to trek but off the beaten route where fewer trekkers will follow this route. Gorkha Durbar is another huge attraction carrying historical and archaeological importance. The durbar (palace) itself has its history from ancient Nepal to the founder of Nepal due to which a lot of tourists show interest to be here. Lower Manaslu got some of the most exotic landscapes, a fantastic panoramic view of mountain ranges Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal.

Trekking in this region is possible throughout the year but spring and autumn season can be considered as the best time to be at the destination. Autumn falls for 3 months September, October, and November, also consider as the peak season of trekking in Nepal. At these months the weather of the Manaslu region is fairly calm and stable and also one can find many trekkers along the route.

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Kurintaar and Trek to Ghairung (1090m)

Day 3 Trek from Ghairung to Gorkha Bazaar (900m)

Day 4 Explore Gorkha

Day 5 Drive from Gorkha to Bachek (6 to 7 hrs) and Trek to Sirandana(1,900m)

Day 6 Trek from Sirandana to Barpak village (1,920m)

Day 7 Trek from Barpak to Larpak village (2,100m)

Day 8 Trek from Larpak village to Nambai Kharka (2,700m)

Day 9 Hike to Dharche Danda (3,220m) and Trek to Tallo Thotneri (2,440m)

Day 10 Trek to Gyampesal via Sita Cave (1,165m)

Day 11 Drive back to Kathmandu via Gorkha Bazaar

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

After you arrive in TIA, our representative will be waiting for you to guide through the streets of Kathmandu and reach to your selected hotel. In the evening you can roam the local areas nearby the hotel and the heritages nearby. You can go through the maps and outlines of the trip at night. We will also be providing you the orientation for the trek in the afternoon.

Day 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Kurintaar and Trek to Ghairung (1,090m)

After finishing our morning breakfast, we will start our journey by taking a drive of 3 hours to Kurintaar. From Kurintaar we will start off our trek. After reaching Kurintaat, we will take a short ride of the cable car to reach the Manakamana temple located on the hill. you will have a beautiful view from the cable car. You will see thousands of pilgrimages visiting the Manakamana temple. We will hike towards the north for 3 hours and reach Ghairung village and spend the night in the local guest house.

Day 3
Trek from Ghairung to Gorkha Bazaar (900m)

Today we will continue the walk for 5 to 6 hours. We will pass through Bunkot which is famous for the birthplace of Nepal’s first martyr – Lakhan Thapa, he was hanged to death for raising the voice against the Rana Regime. You can see a park in his name too on the way. We will hike ahead and reach Gorkha bazaar which will be our place for the night.

Day 4
Explore a day in Gorkha

Finishing our morning breakfast, we will have an exploring day in Gorkha. We will hike a thousand feet above the Gorkha Bazaar and reach the ancient Gorkha palace and have a view of the valley. There is a Gorkhanath cave downwards which is said to be belonging to Gorkhanath baba who used to provide advice to King Prithivi Narayan Shah. We will also visit the Gorkha museum which is full of art crafts and belongings of king Prithivi Narayan Shah. We will go back to our hotel in Gorkha Bazaar for the night.

Day 5
Drive from Gorkha to Bachek (6 to 7 hrs) and Trek to Sirandana (1,900m)

Early in the morning, we will take a drive of 6 to 7 hours to Bachek. The drive will be thrilling as the roads are not so well built. After reaching Bhachek, we will do a short trek to Siranandana. you will get to see Yarshagumba along with other medicinal herbs in Sirandana. You will have your night in a lodge in Sirandana.

Day 6
Trek from Sirandana to Barpak village (1,920m)

We will be completing a trek of 6 to 7 hours after the morning breakfast. Our trial will pass through Mathar village, Dewaalsara, Goje, and Alagang and reach Barpak village. Your room and dinner will be ready in Barpak village. The villagers here are mainly from Tamang and Gurung community.

Day 7
Trek from Barpak to Larpak village (2,100m)

Today we will be heading towards the Larpak village continuing a walk of 5 to 6 hours. The trek to Larpak will be gaining altitude on each step. Larpak villages will be our stay for the night.

Day 8
Trek from Larpak village to Nambai Kharka (2,700m)

Continuing the trail, we will head towards Nambai Kharka walking for 4 to 5 hours, On the way, you will see various agricultural lands, Nambai Kharka is open land for cultivation and has a very a smaller number of houses.

Day 9
Hike to Dharche Danda (3,220) and Trek to Tallo Thotneri (2,440m)

We will have an early morning trek to Darche Danda. From there you have a mesmerizing view of more than twenty peaks (Annapurna, Gangapurna, Buddha, Sringi, Himachuli, and others), that will be your unforgettable moment of this trip. Then we will have a night in Thotneri.

Day 10
Trek to Gyampesal via Sita cave (1,165m)

Today we will be ending our trek after 5 to 6 hours of walk. We will visit Sita cave which has religious importance for the Hindu community people. Then we will hike to Gyampesal and rest for the night in a lodge.

Day 11
Drive back to Kathmandu via Gorkha Bazaar

After having breakfast, we will leave for Kathmandu. Firstly, we will drive up to Gorkha Bazaar, have lunch there, and then drive to Kathmandu. Our representatives will drop you to your hotel and you can relax.

Day 12
Departure from Kathmadu

Our representative will help you reach to TIA by arranging you a farewell lunch and help you at the airport to fly you back to your place. In case you want further trips to Nepal, you can inform us, we will arrange it for you as per your comfort.
