Overview
Badimalika trek is the far western heritage trek that provides the massive wilderness of the far western region of Nepal. The main focal point of the trek Badimalika Temple is nestled in the Seti zone, district of Bajura in the Far western region in Nepal. The panoramic view of the Mt. Api and Mt.Saipal range is a magnificent view that falls on the trail. Badimlika temple is the prestigious temple to the Hindu pilgrimages and tourists.
The temple is devoted to the Bhagwati and during the time of Malika Chaturdashi which is celebrated annually on the full moon of August. Lots of pilgrimages come to the pilgrimage site to get a glimpse of the Goddess. The trek has so many incredible places to explore culturally and naturally.
The trail of the Badimalika trek takes you the outstanding journey of Greenland. Although it is a new destination among trekkers it has become quite famous in a short period. Although the main attraction of the trek is the Badimalika temple, the trail also covers the Khaptad area. Covering the 225 sq. km the amazing Khaptad National Park, which was established in 1984, is a very astonishing destination for the people who enjoy the sight of rare wildlife. The khaptad National Park inhabits a great number of wild species of plants and animal kingdom.
It is home to 270 species of beautiful birds, 224 species of medicinal herbs and it also preserves the endangered animals like musk deer, barking deer, leopard, bear, etc. 11 percent of flowers available in Nepal are found in Khaptad National Park. It is covered with sub-tropical bamboo forests, Rhododendron flowers and one can also see Khaptad Lake. Khaptad museum, Khaptad Danda, and a tower is also the highlight of the trek. It is known that Khaptad Baba, meditated in this Danda(hill) and bestowed his wisdom to the people.
The route of the Badimalika Trek also takes you to the Tribeni River. Tribeni River is one of the holy river Nepal for the Hindu pilgrimages. Lots of devotees worship this river. The trek starts from flight to Dhangadi and it will end on Mahendranagar. It is 14 days trek. The difficulty level of strenuous as the roads is not fully developed. Accommodation can be in the hotel, tea houses, and tents.
