Overview

Badimalika trek is the far western heritage trek that provides the massive wilderness of the far western region of Nepal. The main focal point of the trek Badimalika Temple is nestled in the Seti zone, district of Bajura in the Far western region in Nepal. The panoramic view of the Mt. Api and Mt.Saipal range is a magnificent view that falls on the trail. Badimlika temple is the prestigious temple to the Hindu pilgrimages and tourists.

The temple is devoted to the Bhagwati and during the time of Malika Chaturdashi which is celebrated annually on the full moon of August. Lots of pilgrimages come to the pilgrimage site to get a glimpse of the Goddess. The trek has so many incredible places to explore culturally and naturally.

The trail of the Badimalika trek takes you the outstanding journey of Greenland. Although it is a new destination among trekkers it has become quite famous in a short period. Although the main attraction of the trek is the Badimalika temple, the trail also covers the Khaptad area. Covering the 225 sq. km the amazing Khaptad National Park, which was established in 1984, is a very astonishing destination for the people who enjoy the sight of rare wildlife. The khaptad National Park inhabits a great number of wild species of plants and animal kingdom.

It is home to 270 species of beautiful birds, 224 species of medicinal herbs and it also preserves the endangered animals like musk deer, barking deer, leopard, bear, etc. 11 percent of flowers available in Nepal are found in Khaptad National Park. It is covered with sub-tropical bamboo forests, Rhododendron flowers and one can also see Khaptad Lake. Khaptad museum, Khaptad Danda, and a tower is also the highlight of the trek. It is known that Khaptad Baba, meditated in this Danda(hill) and bestowed his wisdom to the people.

The route of the Badimalika Trek also takes you to the Tribeni River. Tribeni River is one of the holy river Nepal for the Hindu pilgrimages. Lots of devotees worship this river. The trek starts from flight to Dhangadi and it will end on Mahendranagar. It is 14 days trek. The difficulty level of strenuous as the roads is not fully developed. Accommodation can be in the hotel, tea houses, and tents.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival, our team representative will welcome you to the airport and will escort you to the hotel. You can have the day to yourself. You can visit many places in Kathmandu. Our team leader will brief you about the trek.

Day 2
Flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi (109 m)

An hour flight overlooking the phenomenal sight of the great mountains and beautiful terrace farming can be experienced in Dhangadhi. You can also savor the famous dessert of Dadeldhura rice pudding, also known as Kheer in Nepali After reaching Dhangadhi, you need to take 4-hour to drive in a private vehicle from Godavari Dhangadhi to Dadeldhura. Dadeldhra is best known for its vast cultural heritage. You can visit places like Urgatara Temple, historical Amargadhi fort, and Alital. They are the main tourist attractions in Dadeldhura. Apart from these heritage sites, you can also enjoy the marvelous beauty of Mt. Api and Mt. Saipal from Dadeldhura. Stay overnight in Dadeldhura.

Day 3
Drive to Dadeldhura to Jadanga (1,745 m)

The next day’s journey begins with the four-hour-long drive from Dadeldhura to the beautiful Sanfe of Achham. Sanfe is surrounded by good restaurants and lodges. From there driving three hours will take you to Jadanga. It a starting point of the trek. Jadanga is a small and quiet village with beautiful teahouses. Stay overnight in Jadanga

Day 4
Trek from Jadanga to Budha krodh (2700 m)

The trail to Budha krodh is walking uphill. The incredible landscapes, great waterfalls, lush green forests, and soothing streams await you in the Budha Krodh. It is a very delightful place to be. You can find a variety of species of flora and fauna. Stay overnight in Budha Krodh.

Day 5
Trek from Budha Krodh to Bhito

Trekking through the dense forest and walking through the buffalo sheds you can reach to the place where you can shortly stop for lunch. Thee place is famous for buffalo dairy products, you can buy buffalo milk and curds. The trails of this trek will cross through the amazing grassland and colorful flower vegetation. Stay overnight in Bhito in a tent.

Day 6
Trek from Bhito to Bhadimalika Temple (4,200m.)

The journey from Bhito to Bhadimalika Temple is a steep walk in the uphill. After quite a walk you will reach Tribeni River. Tribeni River is the holy river of the Hindu pilgrimage. Every year tons of pilgrimages come to worship the holy river in the holy month of August during, Janai Purnima. After some walk through the massive grasslands, beautiful moist forest, and vegetation you will reach Bhadimalika Temple. The Temple holds great religious significance to the Hindu devotees. Stay overnight in a tent near Bhadimalika Temple.

Day 7
Trek to Bhadimalika Temple to Kheti Beti

You can enjoy the mornings seeing the devotees taking a holy bath in the holy river. It is said that the bath in the holy river washes your sins away and it also opens the gateway to heaven for the ancestors. After an hour walk from Tribeni will take you to Kheti Beti. Stay overnight in Kheti Beti in a tent.

Day 8
Trek to trebini Tribeni

Tribeni will take your journey to the next level as you can get an outstanding view of the great environment there as you climb the hills. You will need to take the packed lunch from there as there are no tea houses nearby. Along the trails, you can enjoy the sight of exquisite flowers. You can also get a magnificent view of Badhimalika Temple from the hill. Stay overnight in a tent in Tribeni.

Day 9
Trek from Tribeni to Dhawalpur Lake (2556 m)

You can wake up with the fabulous view of Mt. Api and Mt. Saipal. The phenomenal view of sunrise and wide grassland will take your breath away. As you get to the top of the Badhimalika view, you will be stun and mesmerized by the view from the top. Descending the hill will take you to the beautiful Dhawalpur Lake. The hill downward is steep and difficult. Stay overnight around the area.

Day 10
Trek from Dhawalpur Lake to Lamagadh

Dhwalapur Lake is situated in the middle of the thick forest. The trek from the Dhawalpur will take you to the Nyateswori temple, it is very beautifully decorated on the day of Janai Purnima. You can enjoy the Deuda dance performed by the locals of the Far-western region. After an hour’s walk from Nyateswori temple, you will reach Lamagadh. Stay overnight in homestay in Lamagadh.

Day 11
Trek from Lamagadh to Mourya

You will start your journey to Mourya from Lamagadh passing the beautiful Malagadhi and Bhudiganga rivers. It is a very beautiful destination filled with natural beauty. Stay overnight in Mourya.

Day 12
Trek from Mourya to Mahendranagar (229 m)

The trail will take you the Shaileshwori Temple which is also another great Hindu pilgrimage in Silgadhi. Silgadhi is located in high altitude where you can depict the splendid Dipayal valley. The amazing Seti River flowing right through the Dipayal valley only add to its beauty. After Silgadhi a journey to Mahendragar starts. Stay overnight in Mhendranagar.

Day 13
Fly back to Kathmandu

The next day after the exhausting and memorable trek you will fly back to Kathmandu. On the arrival of Kathmandu, you can relax your day or you can shop around the valley.

Day 14
Extra Day at Kathmandu

Today, you will have a free day in Kathmandu. You will visit some popular places in the city like Temples, Buddhist Monastries, Heritage sites with guides. Overnight at Hotel. Farewell dinner will be invited by us.

Day 15
Departure

After breakfast, our team representative will take you to the airport for the departure. Here the journey ends and hopes to see you again.
