Thorong La Pass Trek - 16 Days

Thorong La Pass trekking is one of the well-known treks in Nepal, Which was open for trekkers in the 1980s and since has been doable for exploit travelers. Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival Day to Nepal

After landing in Kathmandu airport, Our clerk from Himalaya Family Adventure will pick you and drop to the hotel. Then, you may take a rest and in the evening, we will provide you typical Nepali dinner provided by Himalaya Family Adventure. Overnight at Hotel

Day 2
UNESCO Heritage Sightseeing, Trek preparation

After your breakfast at Hotel, the city guide from Himalaya Family Adventure will escort you to Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Hindu Temple, and Durbar square as well as the viewpoint of Kathmandu valley shwoyambhunath (known as monkey temple). During the trip, we will provide a delicious lunch at Boudhanath. After the return from sightseeing, our trek guide will check your suggested trekking gears and discuss trekking. Return to Hotel.

Day 3
Drive to Bhulbhule via Besisahar. 800m.- 7 hours.

After Breakfast, we will begin our journey to the hillside through Prithvi Highway along to Trisuli River. After crossing a bridge at Muglin Bazaar, we will turn our way to the north side along the Marshyangdi river. At the junction of Dumre, we will skip the Prithvi highway of Pokhara than drive all the way right to Besisahar. Reaching Besisahar, we will drive through bumpy road to Bhubhule which will take about 40 minutes. We will stay at the lodge near the Marshyangdi river. From here, we will see beautiful views of the Manaslu range.

Day 4
Trek to Jagat 1300m./ 6-7 hours.

Today, we will follow the mail trail of this route through Bahundanda where we will see the magnificent scenes of upper and lower valleys. After Bahundanda, we will continue our trek down to Ghermu phant and cross the suspension bridge than gradually walk to Jagat village. Jagat is a small peaceful village where we will observe the amazing views of waterfalls along the way and natural hot springs. Overnight at Jagat.

Day 5
Trek to Dharapani 19960m./ 6 hours.

Leaving Jagat, we will trek to Chyamje village which is very popular for the best waterfalls on the side of Marshyangdi River. After crossing the bridge, We will follow the original trekking trail to Tal Village. Tal Village is a gateway to Manag district which is located at a cozy plain landscape at the altitude of 1700m. .There are several tea houses, lodges, and restaurants. Along the way, we will see waterfalls, calm sound of Marshyangdi river, Bamboo bushes. After an hour of a walk along the riverside, we will reach Dharapani via Karte. Overnight at Dharapani.

Day 6
Trek to Chame 2710m./ 6hours.

Our walk to Chame makes us memorable journey before entering Manang valley. The trail leads gradually up to Danaque than gently climbs to Timang village through the rhododendron forest. From Timang, we will catch the stunning views of Mt. Manaslu Himal 8163m. After having delicious lunch, we will continue our journey to Chame through the oat, pine forest. Chame is a district center of Manang which has several offices, shops, lodges, and restaurants. In the evening, you take a bath at Natural hot spring. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 7
Trek to Upper Pisang Village 3350m./ 6 hours.

After breakfast at Chame, we will start our trek towards Bhratang village which is very popular for Apple farms. We will taste of fresh apple juice here and continue our walk to Dhukurpokhari. At Dhukurpokhari, we will take our lunch with the amazing views of nacket hills from the middle of the jungle. Never forget to taste the local Mushroom. After a few minutes’ walk, we will reach a Large typical Pisang village surrounded by the Himalayas. We will recommend staying at the Upper Village of Pisang because of the clear views of Annapurna Himalaya. You will visit Monastery and the local village here. In the morning, you will see the picturesque scene and catch it and save to your camera.

Day 8
Trek to Manang Village 3500m./ 6hours.

Today, we will trek to Manang village through the upper route via Ngwal and Ghyaru village. The trail offers pleasant views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Chulu East, and many snow-capped peaks. A steep walk to Ghyaru and a smooth walk to Manang village through the Bhraka. Bhraka is a very old traditional village with monasteries. From Bhraka, we will make a side trip to Khicho Ice Lake and Milarepa Cave. After 40 minute walk, we will reach Manang village. Overnight here.

Day 9
Acclimatization Day

At Manang, there are many things to explore like Gangapurna glacier, Praken Gompa, Bhojo Gompa, Local village, watch the movie at high vision hall, guiding a class of Altitude sickness, drinking coffice- espresso-bakeries, shopping some extra necessary gears and so on. Day acclimatization is recommended before heading to high altitude. We will observe the splendid views of Annapurna III, IV, Gangapurna, and many peaks. Overnight at Manang

Day 10
Trek to Yak Kharka 4110m./ 4hours.

After Breakfast at Manang, we will trek to Tenki village then turn the right corner to Gunsang with the closer views of Gangapurna Himal. The trail is gradually easy through the bushy plants of yak grazing wide land. After a couple of hours, we will reach Yak Kharka.

Day 11
Trek to Thorong Phedi 4600m./ 4 hours.

Today, we will walk slowly to Phedi also known as Thorong La Base Camp to save our energy for the next day. It takes about 4 hours to walk to Phedi from Yak Kharka. During the walk, we can have a chance to see blue sheep along the way. We will hike gradually up to Lether Village and continue to Thorong Phedi passing through the soaring cliffs. After crossing the suspension bridge, we will trek the next side of the route towards Phedi. While the trek to Phedi from here, we have to be careful of rock falls. Overnight at Thorong Base Camp.

Day 12
Cross Thorong-La 5416m.- Trek down to Muktinath 3800m./ 7-8 hours.

Today, we will take early breakfast and climb to High camp than continue our trek to Thorong-La. We have to walk slowly but continue till to top because of cold weather and altitude. Thorong- La Pass is the highest pass in the world. After a few hours, we will reach to Pass and take some memorable pictures and trek down all the way to Muktinath. After the pass, we will see wider valley of Mustang and Stunning views of Dhaulagiri Mountain 8167m., The trail is sleeper down to Muktinath we must carefully while walking. Reaching Muktinath, we will take a hot shower, drink some beer, and visit the famous pilgrimage site Muktinath. Enjoy your evening after crossing the Thorong-La.

Day 13
Trek to Jomsom Via Kagbeni 2700m./ 6 hours.

Leaving Muktinath, we will trek down to Jharkot Village which is a very old village with an older monastery than continue to Kagbeni village. Kagbeni is a gateway for Upper Mustang where we will visit a traditional village, Oldest Monastry, and lake our lunch. After that, we will trek to Jomsom along the Kaligandaki riverside. Jomsom is a center city of Mustang valley which just under the Nilgiri Mountain where we will find many shops, restaurants, hotels, airports, hospitals, pharmacies, etc. Overnight at Jomsom.

Day 14
Drive to Pokhara 8/9 hrs (20m. flight seasonal).

After Breakfast at Hotel, we will make our baggage ready and
move into the car. A pleasant driveto Pokhara offers the views of Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri above the world’s deepest gorge. You will have a free time in pokhara.. Enjoy your day at Pokhara. There are several touristy shops, nice restaurants, a spa and so on. In the evening, you will visit Barahi Temple at Lake Phewa which is only accessible by boat. Enjoy your dinner here with trekking staff. Overnight at Hotel

Day 15
Fly to Kathmandu

Today, we will take an afternoon flight. After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit some sightseeing places like Devi’s fall, cave, and peace stupa. Return to the hotel, making ready our luggage and drive to Pokhara airport. Fly to Kathmandu with panoramic views of Nepal Himalayas. Our Representative from Himalaya Family will escort you to the Hotel. Today, you will do last minute shopping and go for dinner with the organizer. Overnight at Hotel

Day 16
Final Departure

Today is the last day of your trip, a representative from Himalaya family Adventure will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours before your flight time. We will say goodbye and Namaste!! Waiting to welcome you again. Have a safe journey back home.
