Tamang Heritage Trek (THT), Rasuwa is introduced by the Government of Nepal as a part of Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program (TRPAP). Alluring Rasuwa is situated north of Kathmandu which is approximately 124 km far from the capital.

Tamang Heritage Trekking is a cultural trekking program that helps to quest the ancestral Tamang villages in the Langtang region with beautiful scenery and majestic Himalayan vistas. Thus, the developed pristine area offers an enchanting journey to experience the rich culture and lifestyle of the Tamangs. Previously restricted area for traveler near to the Tibetan border; within the Langtang National Park is now developed as Tamang Heritage trail.

The region is mostly dense by the Tamangs and people from Tibetan origin, whose culture and traditions are more connected to Tibetan Buddhist influence. Their enlightening cultural aspects, undisturbed traditional way of living, creatively crafted dresses, traditional wooden roofed houses, cultural performances are authentic experiences for tourists. Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

Settle in after your flight and get a feel for this amazing city full of temples, people, and buzz. You will be picked up by the representatives of the Himalaya Family Adventure and will be transferred to a standard hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2
Sightseeing and questing heritages of Kathmandu

You will be given a wonderful time to explore the cultural and natural heritage of Kathmandu. It will a very crucial time to shop for your necessary equipment and create a lot of connections with crowds.

Day 3
Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi 1500m. (7-8 hours)

You will kick off your exciting venture by leaving Kathmandu early for the seven-hour drive to the entrance of the Langtang Valley. While the Tamang Heritage Trail is not so far from Kathmandu, the road is hilly and winding (though spectacular), climbing high and providing us with superb panoramic views of the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region. The road then plunges to the Trisuli River valley, which it follows for most of the day’s drive.

Day 4
Syabrubesi trek to Gatlang 2238m. (approx. 5 hours)

Syabrubesi is a very common starting point for the Langtang Valley trek as well as the Gosainkunda trek, but instead of heading in these directions, you will ascend a viewpoint for an hour and a half for a truly fascinating view of snowy Ganesh Himal, the turquoise Gosainkund range, and the Goljang Valley. You will head down to the Goljang Valley (about an hour’s walk) and stop there for energy-boosting lunch. In the afternoon, you will trek for about three hours to reach Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village.

Day 5
Gatlang to Tatopani 2607m. (approx. 7 hours)

Alluring morning calls for a walk that begins by descending to Thangbuchet, by a lovely river. After lunch, the trail heads up again, across a hanging bridge and climbing to Tatopani, your stop for the night. The town name means hot water in Nepali, and there are towns of this name all over Nepal. Unsurprisingly, here you can enjoy the natural bubbly hot springs, with water that comes straight out of the earth and is naturally heated by itself. Locals have faith that the waters have a healing quality, and it will certainly ease away any aches and pains from the trek.

Day 6
Tatopani to Thuman 2338m. (approx. 4 hours)

Today, the trail ascends to Nagthali Danda (3,300 m/ 10,826 ft.), a high, open green grassland with absolutely amazing views of the Himalayas. Slow your pace at the delightful Brimdang village for a tea break, then move up to Nagthali Danda. On arrival, you should stop for a refreshing masala chiya (tea) with the lunch, prepared by the gompas caretaker. Then, you will head continue down to Thuman, a Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance. You might even be invited to join in! Don’t hesitate to have immense fun.

Day 7
Thuman to Briddim 2229m. (approx. 5 hours)

Today’s trek strives along a flatter section of trail, then slows to Timure. It follows part of the old trade route to Tibet. After heavy lunch, the trail continues to Briddim, another Tamang village, where you will stay overnight in a local home for a truly unique experience. All accommodation, lodgings, and food are offered at local houses on a rotational basis, so you can be sure that your stay is benefitting the whole community and not just one or two enterprising families. So you will be making a lot of impacts.

Day 8
Briddim trek to Syabrubesi (approx. 3 hours)

This day has an easy relaxing three-hour walk back down to Syabrubesi. You will have lunch there, and then spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring. Syabrubesi is a small town, and some shops are selling local creative handicrafts made by women, such as colorful aprons and shawls in the local style.

Day 9
Return to Kathmandu

You will head back to Kathmandu while enjoying the mountain scenery en route.

Day 10
Depart to onward Destination

Say farewell to Nepal and its amazing people, mountains, and nature. Until you show up the next time!
Himalaya Family Adventure representative will drop you to Airport before 3 hours of your flight.
