Known by the name of Dal Bhat Trek, Pikey Peak Trek is an unusual uncluttered and undiscovered trekking route to see the enchanting panorama of Mt. Everest and other above eight thousand peaks like the Himalayan ranges such as Mount Dhaulagiri, Kanchanjunga, Lhotse, Makalu and many more. The trek is suitable for everyone who wants to explore the rugged topography of the Everest region. Along with this, the trek offers you with some of the magnificent hospitality shown by charming Sherpas.

Lying at the quailing height of 4067 meters, trekking to the Pikey Peak may not be very difficult especially for an experienced trekker. However, for the beginners it’s really crucial to have sound physical conditions and good bodily capacity for hiking.

Many more early pioneering mountaineers and explorers including ‘Sir Edmund Hilary’ have admitted that the enchanting panorama of Mt Everest from Pikey peak was their abstract preference. The trek commences with scenic drive or flight, to the east of Kathmandu. The rolling hills with cascading waterfalls, terraces, and pristine village in the foreground of snow peaks make the journey grand. When the trek begins, authentic Buddhist villages marked by prayers flag and Mani walls embrace us. Itinerary

Day 1
Entry in Kathmandu

After arriving in the lovely capital if Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport, our agents will be there to receive you and transfer you to one of the standard hotels of Kathmandu.

Day 2
Exploring and sightseeing Kathmandu.

You’ll have a very wonderful time exploring some of the greatest cultural and historical heritages of Kathmandu. Have a very gracious time and prepare for your trekking by buying some of the crucial recommended gears.

Day 3
Drive to Dhap and hike to alluring Japre 29920m./ 4 hours.

You’ll rise the beautiful day with a long (8-9 hour) drive from Kathmandu to Dhap accompanied by different picturesque scenery. From a ridgeline south of Dhap, you’ll begin the trek, and as you near Sigane, the mountains that you are familiar with comes into view — the peaks of the Numbur Himal section of the Himalayan Range. The first village you will reach is called Japre which is rested above a deep valley with nice views of Everest and Numbur Himal. Overnight in Japre.

Day 4
Trek from Japre into astonishing Pikey Base Camp. 3640m, 5-6hours.

Leaving Japre, the trail escalates up to a grassy crest at Bhulbhule. The beautiful panorama of Everest makes this place stunning. Shortly after Bhulbhule, the trail diverges and you’ll head right to Pikey Peak. You’ll pass some old yak houses and a long mani stone wall and turns to the lush forest trail. There are dense rhododendrons here along a level path (which you can see in bloom if trekking in the spring). As you leave the forest behind, it’s not far to Pikey Peak base camp, about 2 hours away. From here, it’s a short climb to the summit at 4065 m (highest point of this trekking). Unless you have an oddly clear evening, it’s better to scale towards the summit in the morning for sunrise.

Day 5
Sunrise at Pikey Peak (4065m.), Trek to lovely Loding. 6 hours.

Begining the beautiful early morning, you’ll follow a continuous trail to the summit, covered with prayer flags. The views are splendid! If the weather is crystal clear, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views from Annapurna to Kanchenjunga. After breakfast, you’ll continue your trek descending to Loding, which crosses through some sheer sections in the forest. At Loding, you’ll have a couple of choices for service which are both simple and charming.

Day 6
Hike from Loding to captivating Junbesi (2675m), 6 hours.

There are a few choices for the descent to Junbesi. The most likely is a stunning shortcut trail that leaves the ridge shortly after Jase Bhanjyang and declines steeply through spectacular old-growth forest to Taktor. This path coincides with the Everest Base Camp trail coming from Jiri. From Taktor, it is a few hours trek on a lovely trail to Junbesi. Junbesi is an indigenous Sherpa village which is the foundation of Sherpa culture and architecture. The Sherpas acknowledge the Solukhumbu a sacred valley. In this secluded part of Nepal that borders Tibet, Buddhism prospers and there are various Buddhist monasteries along the way. You’ll also visit the Thupten Chholing Monastery

Day 7
Trek from Junbesi towards pleasing Taksindu (2960m.) 5-6 hours.

Pass the river at the base of the town and climb through the forest up to Salung, from where there are views of Mount Everest, Chamlang, and Makalu, weather permitting. There are also gorgeous glimpses out across the valley to Chiwong Monastery and down towards Phaplu. A short incline up into Ringmo is there, which is famous for its apple orchards and interesting apple products such as apple alcohol, cider, and apple pie. You should probably try out those. From Ringmo, there’s a final short ascend to Taksindu La, from where there are again panoramic mountains views, and then a short descend to the Taksindu Monastery. The Taksindu Monastery which was built in 1946 is usually opened early morning or late afternoon.

Day 8
Hike from Taksindu to luring Phaplu (2413m.) 5-6 hours.

Today, leave the main trekking route again and take a wonderful path down to Phaplu through the forest. There’s also the choice of hiking up to Chiwong Gompa, perched high on a cliff facing the valley. This monastery has glorious celebrations for the Mani Rimdu festival in autumn. Continue descending into Phaplu and celebrate the triumphant of a great trek at your cozy tea house.

Day 9
Flight from Phaplu head to heartily Kathmandu.

Today we bid farewell to the mountains and board our plane for the flight back into the Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu, we take you into a standard hotel. If you desire we can aid you and then leave you to explore Kathmandu on your own.

Day 10
Departure to an International Airport.

You’ll be heading back to your home by bidding farewell to Nepal and its amazing hospitable people. Make sure you open the suitcase of beautiful memories you cratered in Nepal.
