The name of Ganesh Himal is kept after the Hindu deity Ganesh. Trek to Ganesh Himal will add the glory in your trekking diary. This trekking routes have both traditional and natural significance. This trekking route is one of the thrilling trekking routes of Nepal.

Overview

Ganesh Himal trek offers you with glorious mountain views, landscapes, terrace fields, cultural diversity, and many more. You will have an adventurous time on this trek. One can enjoy the routes full of greenery, rhododendron, and pine trees. The region of Ganesh Himal is blessed with various medicinal herbs. The routes are zig-zac and narrow at some point. Being in this trek you can get a chance to see the lifestyles of the people in the eastern region. You will mainly find the people of Tamang and Gurung community in the villages that lie in the route.

You will also pass through one of the holy lakes of Hindu-Kalo Kunda and Seto Kunda. One can enjoy the cultural shows and the handicrafts while the village stays. This trek will give you opportunities to visit various holy lakes and rivers also the Buddhist Gompas. The trek to Ganesh Himal is affordable for most of the tourists/trekkers. The trek to Ganesh Himal is not so crowded so we can enjoy the journey peacefully.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival Day

After you arrive in TIA, our representative will be waiting for you to guide through the streets of Kathmandu and reach to your selected hotel. In the evening you can roam the local areas nearby the hotel and the heritages nearby. You can go through the maps and outlines of the trip at the night. We will also be providing you the orientation for the trek in the afternoon.

Day 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1,503m)

We will pick you up from the hotel after breakfast. Then we will take a drive to the Syabru Beshi of 7 to 8 hours. Our routes pass from the Karnali River with a glimpse of Ganesh Himal. You will find the road a bit narrow from Dunche. The route offers you the greenery view and landscapes. Syabru Besi will be the place for our night, Syabru Besi is also the gateway to enter Langtang valley.

Day 3
Trek from Syabru Beshi to Gatlang (2,337m)

We will start the day with breakfast and then be ready for the trek. Today we will walk for 5 to 6 hours to reach Gatlang which is located on the hillside. Gatlang is the inhabitant of Tamang people and the lands here are terraced. You can visit the famous Parvatikunda lake, Tamang monastery, and also see the cultural show at Goljung. We will stay in a lodge at Gatlang.

Day 4
Trek from Gatlang to Somdang (3,271m)

Today we have 6 to 7 hours of walk to complete. Our route today passes from pine and rhododendron forest along with the graveled road. Throughout the trek you will be mesmerized with views of many mountains, you will also pass through Somdang village which is also known as Tamang village. One can also see the Chukarma waterfall where we can find zinc mines. And our overnight will be in Somdang.

Day 5
Trek from Somdang to Pangsang Pass (3,842m)

Today we have 6 to 7 hours of walk to complete. Our route today passes from pine and rhododendron forest along with the graveled road. Throughout the trek you will be mesmerized with views of many mountains, you will also pass through Somdang village which is also known as Tamang village. One can also see the Chukarma waterfall where we can find zinc mines. And our overnight will be in Somdang.

Day 6
Trek from Somdang to Pangsang Pass (3,842m)

We will continue enjoying our walk with views of mountains, forests, and, landscapes. Today you have to hike for 3 to 4 hours and reach Pangsang pass and stay for the night. This place is popular for having the best views of mountains like Langtang ranges, Manaslu ranges, Annapurna ranges and, Ganesh Himal ranges.

Day 7
Trek from Pangsang Pass to Shertung (1,875m)

After morning breakfast we will head forward for a trek of 5 to 6 hours. We will pass through Tipling village which is large in area and have two Buddhist gompas. Our route climbs up for some distance, you will mainly see Tamang villagers throughout the way. You will enjoy various cultural dances and shows by Tamang villagers and you can also go through their handicrafts shops of Bamboos. Here you will get the chance to interact with the locals.
After crossing Adha Khola, we will reach the sister village – Shertung and Chalise village which has famous stories behind the village name. We will now pass the Gorkhen Khola. climbing ahead we will reach Shertung Chalise – our stay for the night.

Day 8
Trek from Chalise to Hindung (2,220m)

The route from here is way more zig-zac, continuing the trek we will pass through khar khola and slowly trek up to Pasabar danda. Here you will have a view of the Tribeni river which is believed to be a holy river for Hindus and Buddhists. The name of the river is Tribeni which means the connection of three rivers, many pilgrims gather here especially for Maghesankranti (a Nepali festival). Heading forward we will reach the last village before the base camp that is Hindung village and we can explore the village and their lifestyle and stay for the night.

Day 9
Trek from Hindung to Rajgang Kharka

After morning breakfast, we will head towards Rajgang Kharka which is 5 to 6 hours of walk. The route ahead is flat and full of greenery. You will variations of birds on the way and also villagers who come there to graze their animals. Our overnight stay will be at Rajgang Kharka

Day 10
Trek from Kharka to Kalo Seto Kunda Ganesh Himal Base Camp

We will continue our trail after morning breakfast. Today, the route is narrow and uphill at some points. We will be heading towards the Kalo Seto Kunda (black and white lake), walking for 6 to 7 hours. You will get to see the lake when we reach there and our overnight is at the base camp.

Day 11
Exploring the Base Camp

We will have a visit day at the base camp today. You can go around the lakeside, the Kalo Seto Kunda has a holy significance for the pilgrims. From here you will have the iconic view of the Ganesh Himal along with many other mountains. We will stay in the base camp for the night and have our dinner.

Day 12
Descend the trail to Rajgang Kharka

Today we will reverse our trek and hike back to Rajgang Kharka enjoying nature throughout the route. We will be walking around 6 to 7 hours, and have the overnight at Rajgang Kharka.

Day 13
Trek from Rajgang Kharka to Chalise (2,000m)

We will continue our trail to Chalise, a village popular for its hospitality. You will enjoy your night in Chalise village enjoying their local foods and culture.

Day 14
Trek from Chalise to Jharlang

Leaving Chalise village, we will continue the walk to Jharlang. We will climb up and cross the bridge, from here you will get mesmerizing views of landscapes, mountains and, the villages. Our overnight will be at Jharlang

Day 15
Trek from Jharlang to Darkha

Continuing the trail we will head towards Darkha walking 7 to 8 hours and enjoying the scenes on the way. Darkha is a Brahmin community village, You can see Ankhu Stream a bit ahead from the village. We will be spending a night at Darkha.

Day 16
Trek from Darkha to Khahare Bazaar

We will end the trek at Khahare Bazaar, it is a huge market where we can find all the facilities like in the city. Khahare Bazaar is around 8 hours of walk away from Jharlang. We will stay in a lodge at Khahare Bazaar.

Day 17
Drive from Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu

After early morning breakfast, we will take a drive for Kathmandu. You will see the villages, landscapes and, mountains throughout the journey. After reaching Kathmandu our representative will drop you at your hotel and you can relax there.

Day 18
Departure from Kathmandu

Our representative will help you reach to TIA by arranging you a farewell lunch and help you at the airport to fly you back to your place. In case you want further trips to Nepal, you can inform us, we will arrange it for you as per your comfort.
