Overview

The Langtang Valley trekking has been one of the most visited trekking routes of Nepal. Ithas been one of the favourite route for the trekkers since long, as it is near to the Kathmanduvalley (51 kilometres north). On the way to Langtang valley, the trekkers can enjoy themesmerizing glimpse of the mountain ranges and the landscapes. The trekkers can even visit the Langtang National park which lies 51 kilometers north of the Kathmandu valley.

Although the Langtang village was destroyed by the 2015 earthquake, the villagers have tried their best to rebuild it for the tourists and visiting there can be the best help we can provide them. The area provides us with the Buddhist culture of Tamangs. Although the Langtang valley is near to Kathmandu valley, this destination is yet unknown to the majority of trekkers.

People often hike towards the Langtang valley after enjoying the heritages of Kathmandu valley. For the trekkers who like the off-beat track, this route can be favorable for them. It is one of the most visited routes after the Annapurna base camp and Everest base camp.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu

As you land in the Kathmandu valley you will witness the beautiful views of the valley. Then you will find representatives waiting for you to guide through Kathmandu Street and reach to your selected hotel. In the evening, you can roam the local places around your hotel.

Day 2
Scrutinize Kathmandu Valley

Early in the morning when there are no crowds of people, you can enjoy having breakfasts at the local hotels enjoying local dishes. During the day time, you can visit various heritage sites like Swoyembhunath, Basanta Durbar Square, etc. Later in the evening you can visit and enjoy the Thamel area which is known to be a popular place for tourists.

Day 3
Heading to Syabru Besi 1500 m. ( 7 hours)

You will leave Kathmandu valley early in the morning for the seven hours journey. The moment we leave Kathmandu valley you will witness the views of the Annapurna Himalayas in the west and the peaks of Langtang region ahead. You will drive through the areas of Trishuli before heading towards Dunche. After the dunche town, drive for another hour to syabura besi and then your lodge for the night.

Day 4
Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel 2,480m. ( 6 hours)

Today we will slowly climb through the subtropical forest. Moving forward you will enjoy rhododendron forest and the monkeys (langur) in the trees. The route is steeper forward and at the end of the day, you will comfortably rest in the lodge.

Day 5
Trek to Langtang Village/Mundu (3,550m)

You will be continuing trek through the forest. Further, you pass through the Nepal Army post. Heading forward you will start seeing yak. Next, you will see the reminiscence of the 2015 earthquake, the place where used to be a lot of lodges. Mundu is now a few minutes away. Now here are only a few old houses are left and the rest are rebuilt in new ways.

Day 6
Trek to Kyanjin Gompa and exploring Kyanjin 3830m. (4hours)

Heading towards the destination, you will be passing through the yak pastures and small streams. Passing the kyanjin, you can see the monastery and you can also see the cheese factory established by the Nepal government. You will reach there by lunchtime and start exploring it for the rest of the day. You can visit the monastery, climb kyanjin Ri 4450m. and enjoy the spectacular glaciers of Langtang Lirung. Note: if you will have plenty of time to explore extra days: Tserko Ri (500m), Langsisakharka (4285m.) are the popular place to explore.

Day 7
Return trek to Lama hotel

Now following the same route in the reverse manner you will get back to the lama hotel.

Day 8
Trek to Syabru Besi

Continuing the steps back to Syabru Besi enjoying the nature through dense forest and views
of peaks.

Day 9
Accelerate to Kathmandu

A drive to Kathmandu valley from Syabru Besi.

Day 10
Depart Kathmandu

Now that is a wrap to Langtang trek but you can further plan trips and treks to other places if not then you will have the representative to help you to return to the airport through the hotel.
