Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek - 8 Days

Ghorepani trek is also known as Ghorepani / Poon Hill trek is one of the classic short treks of Nepal. This is the right trip for those who doesn’t t have much time for the long trek and don’t want to do harder and longer trekking During this trip we will pass through beautiful villages, rhododendron forest( national flower of Nepal), and, of course, access to panoramic views of Nepal’s most famous peaks such as – Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I (8091m.) and Annapurna South.

In the month March to May during this trip you may see different colors of rhododendron (national flower of Nepal). Once you reach the upper part of Ghorepani you may view the stunning and incomparable view of giant Annapurna. We will stay at Ghorepani, at an altitude of 2855 meters. Most trekkers hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) for early morning pleasure trek which provides you the spectacular panorama stretches of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Machhapuchhre (6997m) and many more.

Overview

Ghorepani Poon Hilla trek is very popular for family trekkers you can with your beloved person can view the sunrise which is marvelous and is said to be one of the best viewpoints which are easily accessed from Pokhara. Starting our trek from Nayapul which is 42km drive from Pokhara and the first-day walk which leads to meaningful explore of Gurung and Magar culture and tradition which reflects our lifestyle and culture at Thikhedunga and at Sabeth villages.

We will continue our hike up passing Ulleri village that may be a bit difficult hike up to 3300 stone step however there are plenty of teashops in every thirty minutes’ walk so we can stop for rest, taking photos, and be refreshed. Overall talking about this trip is an outstanding trip which will finish in a few days but the memory will last for long.

Itinerary

Day 1
Welcome to Kathmandu 1300m.

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal which is known as the city of temples). As you fly into Kathmandu, our representative will receive and take you through narrow and winding streets and settle you in the respective hotel. Once you’ve settled our representative will inform you about the trip. In the evening we will go to the famous tourist hub of Thamel which is a perfect place to grab your first meal, with a variety of restaurants to chose from offering both Western and local Nepali dishes in Nepal.

Day 2
Explore Kathmandu

After having our breakfast in the hotel we will take a walk and explore the streets with a chai(tea) overlooking one of the local courtyards or durbar squares. Frankly speaking one day is not enough to explore Kathmandu. But we will make sure that you don’t miss the charm of your destination. Later in the evening, we can arrange a home-cooked dinner with a local family which you may feel a homely environment.

Day 3
Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (900m.) and trek toward Tikhedhunga 14800m.- 4hours.

Early in the morning grab the breakfast we will drive to Kathmandu domestic airport for a short flight to Pokhara( it would take around 35min) and will transfer to Nayapul, from where the trek begins! ( which is 4 hrs. drive) Following the main trail of Birethanti, we will start our trek which passes by a small waterfall and reach Sudam and take a break. Back to walk we will climb steadily along the side of the valley and reach Tikhedhunga Teahouse and spend our night.

Day 4
Trekking from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani 2870m./ 6hours.

Early in the morning we will grab our breakfast and start to a big climb to Ulleri. The trek begins with a steep stone stairway which is 3,767 leading you through cultivated fields. Once this section is completed trail continues through a scenic area of blooming rhododendron forests. Climbing through uphill the hill until we reach Nangethanti take a break the place is known as Thanti which translates in Nepali word as a rest house. The climb continues until you get to Ghorepani, a village surrounded by scenery that makes you feel you are living the moment.

Day 5
Morning climb to Poon Hill 3210m.- Trek to Tadapani 26100m.- 5-6 hours.

Today we will have to start early in the morning if you want you can also get a wakeup call and begin to climb Poon Hill (10,500 ft)/ 3210m. which takes just about an hour. This place is considered as a spiritual place that provides majestic scenery, especially when the rising sun casts its golden light on the nearby snow-covered peaks. Grabbing a masala chai (tea) and enjoy the superb views with your fellow trekkers. Today we will do a full day of trekking towards the small village of Tadapani through the beautiful Rhododendron forest. We will spend our day with a lot of memories.

Day 6
Trek from Tadapani toward Nayapul (1080m.) and drive to Pokhara

After having our breakfast in Tadapani our trail continues to beautiful large Gurung village “Ghandruk” and Syauli Bazar through amazing hillside landscapes and fields. Our trek will end at Nayapul where we’ll be transferred to your hotel in Pokhara. By nature, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, the peaks of Annapurna, and others. Upon the arrival in Pokhara, we will relax near the lakeside which is known is the gateway to the Himalaya to ex-pats and adventure travelers.

Day 7
Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu

After having our breakfast we may spend some time doing more sightseeing, relax. 1.5 hours before your flight, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the domestic airport to catch your flight back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your

Departure from Kathmandu

Time to say bye to Nepal our representative will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the airport for your return flight home. It’s good to be at the airport at least three hours prior to departure. Hope to meet you in the near future.
